Special ASX1 Thixotropic Additive for Silicone Rubber is used to increase the thixotropy of the rubber in its liquid state making it possible to brush apply the silicone even onto vertical surfaces.

Mix with our Addition Cure Silicone Rubber at between 1 and 3%, depending on how thixotropic you want the silicone to be. Adding the ASX1 will reduce the clarity of the silicon and color it white.

Ideal for taking silicone molds off original pieces 'in situ' (such as architectural features) so is suitable as a brushable silicone additive and for creating re-usable silicone bags for vacuum bagging.

This additive is designed for use with our AS40 Addition Cure Silicone Rubber but is likely to work with a range of alternative addition (platinum) cure silicones. It is NOT compatible, and has NO EFFECT on condensation cure silicone rubber, such as our CS25.
