Shipping Policy & Delivery Information

This information on our Shipping Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions of Sale. By accepting our Terms & Conditions of Sale (required when placing an order through this site) you also accept the conditions laid out in this Shipping Policy. Please read it carefully.

How We Ship to the USA

Orders placed on the easycomposites.us website are shipped to customers in the USA direct from the UK.

We pay all duties and taxes so there is nothing more to pay but you may be contacted (usually by FedEx/TNT, on behalf of US customs) for some clearance information, particularly if you’ve not imported into the US before.

Delivery Times

Although we ship to the USA direct from the UK, this doesn’t mean a slow service! Most orders are sent using a FedEx Priority air service, which is typically 3 working days from dispatch to delivery to your door.

Delivery times will vary depending on the service selected and an estimate will be provided alongside the available service options during checkout. Please note that delivery times are estimates and delays, although unlikely, can occur due to courier delays or delays with customs clearance.

Delivery Tracking

All orders are sent fully tracked. The tracking number will be emailed to the main email address on the account when your order is dispatched. Your email address and phone number will also be passed to the courier (i.e. FedEx/TNT/UPS) who may also send tracking updates directly.

The tracking number can be found on the Dispatch Confirmation email and on the attached Delivery Note PDF, as well as by visiting your Order History in your account area.

Checking Your Order

  • When your order is delivered, check that all packages are present and if not, only sign for the packages that have been delivered.
  • If a delivery shows visible signs of damage, ensure that you mark the delivery as ‘damaged’ when you sign for it (do not sign for it as ‘delivered in good condition’). Take photos of any damaged boxes before you open them.
  • Check the contents of your delivery as soon as possible. Damaged, missing or incorrect items must be reported within 7 days of delivery. 

Please check your order carefully upon receipt. If any packages or items are damaged, missing, or incorrect you must contact us within 7 days of delivery. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund or replacement on items reported damaged or missing after this time.

Damaged & Missing Items

Non-Delivery

Unless being shipped by special arrangement (such as sea freight), all orders shipped to the USA from Easy Composites (UK) should be received within 14 days, even in the case of unforeseen delays. If you have not received your order within 14 days of dispatch, please contact us.

In all cases, non-delivery must be reported within 30 days of dispatch. Unfortunately, due to the expiry of tracking information and delivery company policies on reporting of non-delivery on international shipments, we are unable to investigate or refund any reported non-delivery if not notified within 30 days of dispatch.

Shipping Charges

We ship thousands of orders to the USA every month and have negotiated extremely low shipping rates with the major courier networks. Our website automatically calculates the shipping cost as you add items to your cart.

To find the shipping cost of any item, or order, simply add the item(s) to your cart, visit the cart page, enter your zip code and click ‘Calculate’. The shipping price displayed will be the price you pay.

Changes to Shipping Cost

Our website uses a very sophisticated set of rules to calculate shipping costs for your exact consignment (size, weight, type of goods) and therefore, providing you enter your delivery address correctly, the price you see on the checkout page will be the price you will pay for shipping. However, due to the wide range of products (including hazardous and oversize products) sometimes the website will not calculate the shipping price correctly. In these circumstances we will calculate the actual shipping cost and contact you to discuss.

Request Shipping Quote

Sometimes, due to the size, weight, or combination of products on your order, the website is unable to calculate a suitable shipping option and you will see a ‘Request Shipping Quote’ button. Continue the shipping quote checkout (no payment will be requested) and we will respond within 1 working day to discuss shipping options and costs for your order.

How Quickly We Dispatch

Due to the time delay between the USA and the UK, most orders (with all items in stock) will be dispatched on the following working day after they are placed. Please note that public holidays in the UK will affect dispatch times (but public holidays in the USA will not!).

Out-of-Stock Items

Orders containing out-of-stock items will not be dispatched until all items are in stock and the order can be shipped complete so pay attention to stock status of items on your order, shown on the product page and on the cart page.

If you do not want to wait for your order until out-of-stock items are available, remove any out-of-stock items from your order or place a separate order for them. 

Minimum Order Value for Dangerous/Hazardous Goods

Due to the significant extra costs of shipping dangerous goods by air (which we do not pass on) a minimum order value of $100 applies to all orders containing hazardous goods.

If your order contains dangerous goods and does not meet the minimum $100 value (before shipping) the cart will warn you and you will not be able to proceed with your order until you increase the cart value to $100 or remove the dangerous items. Items which are classed as dangerous goods for transport are shown on the cart page and on the individual product page.

Perishable Prepregs

Most prepregs sold on this website are perishable and should only be out of frozen storage for a limited amount of time.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that they will be delivered in excellent condition, if you choose to order perishable prepregs from Easy Composites, you do so entirely at your own risk.

The effect of ambient temperature on out-life

The amount of time a prepreg can spend out of frozen storage before it is adversely affected is known as its ‘out-life’. Most of our prepregs have an ‘out-life’ of 4-6 weeks at a temperature of 20°C / 68°F, but this out-life is reduced significantly in higher ambient temperatures:

  • At 30°C / 86°F, this out-life would reduce to 2-3 weeks.
  • At 40C° / 104°F, this out-life would reduce to 1 week (maximum).

Measures we take to minimise the risk of damage:

  • Perishable items are shipped still frozen from our warehouse. In the event that the dispatch of your order is delayed, perishable items are returned to the freezer.
  • We do not ship perishable items immediately before extended public holidays (such as Easter or Christmas). Instead, we will contact you to discuss a suitable dispatch date.

Measures you should take to minimise the risk of damage

  • Make sure you respond to any contact or queries from FedEx/TNT/US Customs as quickly as possible to avoid material sitting at ambient temperature waiting for customs clearance.
  • Don’t order perishable prepregs before you go away, or if you don’t know when you will be in to receive them.
  • Avoid ordering perishable prepregs when its particularly hot in your state (such as the height of summer).

Whilst 99%+ of prepreg orders are delivered to the USA in perfect condition, if you do not accept the risk of possible damage caused by high ambient temperatures or delays en-route, do not order these materials.

Special advice relating to XT135 Tooling Prepreg

To work at its best, XT135/S Tooling Prepreg Surface Ply has an exceptionally short out-life of just a few days and so is not recommended for international shipping. Although we will accept orders for this material, we absolutely do NOT recommend ordering in the hotter months and cannot offer support relating to performance problems arising from depleted out-life.
