This exhaust silencer can be fitted to some larger capacity industrial vacuum pumps. This fitting both reduces the exhaust noise from the pump and protects the port from dirt and dust ingress.
In fixed vacuum pump installations it is not uncommon for the exhaust to be vented via pipework to out-side, in these cases either this silencer or another form of filter is still recommended to prevent debris entering the pump when not in operation.
Although PTFE can be used for installation is is not necessary as an airtight connection is not required.
