Great opportunity to purchase this commercial grade unidirectional carbon fiber reinforcement at a fraction of its usual price after we picked it up as a ‘job-lot’ of surplus stock from a major European weaver/converter.

A cursory inspection of a few rolls shows a high quality material with no major faults, but most rolls are unchecked and it has been stored for some time and so is being offered as a ‘downgraded’ product at a fraction of its normal price. Please read and understand possible reasons for downgrading, listed below. Nonetheless, as a low-cost unidirectional reinforcement made from high quality fiber, for general use within the laminate, this material offers incredible savings.

General Description

The reinforcement is made from high quality, high-strength fiber, in a non-crimp (NCF) unidirectional format. As such, it is suitable for a wide range of applications and processing methods, including hand-laminating, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion. The non-crimp format means that the fibers are kept as flat as possible (compared to a conventional woven format) which enhances the stiffness of the laminate.

The fabric is 100% unidirectional, meaning all the fibers run lengthways down the roll, perfect for adding stiffness and strength specifically in one direction. The weight of the reinforcement is 300gsm (8.8oz/yd²). The width of the fabric is 1.25m (49").

Downgraded Stock

Due to our close relationship with many of the UK and Europe’s largest weavers, we are occasionally offered wholesale consignments of ‘downgraded’ stock that a weaver has decided to clear for one of several reasons. Stock may have been downgraded due to:

• Single or repeating manufacturing faults
• Out of tolerance on specification
• Aerospace material past its shelf-life/expiry
• Part of a cancelled order/project
• Old or discontinued product
• Slight storage or transport damage

As a downgraded material, the fabric is offered at a fraction of its usual price but without any certification (CoC) or batch traceability and may have been quarantined for single or repeating faults.

How to Buy

Due to the large quantity available (whilst stocks last), we are offering this material to buy by the linear meter. The width of the roll is 1.25m (49") meters, meaning that each linear meter is equivalent to 1.25m².

Please enter the length required into the quantity box at the top of the page. In most cases, the reinforcement will be supplied on one continuous roll but, as a ‘downgraded’ product, lengths of 5 or more meters may have a join.
