Highly effective solvent cleaner for the cleaning and preparation of molds prior to application of new release agent. Use to remove old release agents (including chemical release agents and wax), dirt, grease and other contaminants from a mold's surface, without damaging the mold, prior to coating with Easy-Lease or similar release agents.
Available to buy online in 500ml (17oz) and 1l (34oz) tins.

MC1 Mold Cleaner is a blend of solvents that is designed to dissolve and clean mold surface contamination such as wax, dirt, oil and grease. It will remove any previously applied release system and prepare the mold surface for any release agent application. The solvents used are designed to be none-aggressive to all commonly used mold materials.
MC1 Mold Cleaner forms part of Easy Composites' Universal Chemical Release Agent system. Use in conjunction with CR1 Easy-Lease Chemical Release Agent for a totally reliable mold release system compatible with almost all resin systems and mold materials.

Application Guide
If molds are heavily soiled remove any excess dirt/dust/grease prior to application by wiping or washing with standard detergent and drying thoroughly.
Using a clean cotton cloth apply the cleaner by wiping firmly over the mold surface.
Using a second clean and dry cloth remove the cleaner from the mold before it has evaporated, by doing this the contaminates will be absorbed while they are suspended in the cleaner.
Repeat this process as necessary, using clean cloths at each stage, a minimum of 2 applications is recommended, heavily waxed or soiled molds would require many more.
Note: Large mold surfaces may need to be done in stages to avoid evaporation, depending upon working temperature and mold complexity around 0.5sqm (0.6sq yd)should be considered the maximum area per application.

Yes, Mould Cleaner will strip off all release agents during the process of cleaning the mould. This means it is essential to re-apply your preferred release agent prior to using the mould again.
If the resin is cured, the mould cleaner is unlikely to remove it on its own. If the release agent went down properly, often the resin can be flicked off with the edge of a demoulding wedge or similar, which, being soft plastic, is less likely to scratch the mould.
