285g (10oz) 4x4 Twill 3k Carbon Fiber 1250mm (49")

A great looking and highly distinctive 4x4 twill carbon fiber fabric reinforcement. 4x4 twill (also known as basket weave) offers the highest level of drapability, making it a good choice for the most compound curvatures, like helmets and wing mirrors.

The unique appearance of 4x4 twill is also favoured by some of the leading supercar and hypercar manufacturers.

285g (10oz) is the optimum weight for a 3k 4x4 twill, with the tighter weave offering improved stability and a more ‘closed’ appearance on what can otherwise be an unmanageably delicate fabric.

Available in 1.25m (49") width. Sold by the linear metre (1 meter = 1.09 yards).

Typical Uses

A great looking and highly distinctive 4x4 twill carbon fiber fabric reinforcement. 4x4 twill (also known as basket weave) offers the highest level of drapability, making it a good choice for the most compound curvatures, like helmets and wing mirrors.

This premium quality dry carbon fiber fabric reinforcement is suitable for a wide range of high performance composite reinforcement applications including hand-lamination, vacuum bagging, resin infusion and overlaying/skinning.

This 285gsm (10oz), 4/4 twill weave fabric is a great visual carbon fiber and has the rarer and more premium looking 4x4 twill appearance associated with some of the world's top supercars and hypercars.

285g (10oz) is the optimum weight for a 3k 4x4 twill, with the tighter weave offering improved stability and a more ‘closed’ appearance on what can otherwise be an unmanageably delicate weave. Nonetheless, dry 4x4 twill is still a very delicate fabric and should be handled with extreme care to avoid distortion in cosmetic applications.

When using only carbon fiber reinforcement in a part you should expect to use several layers of this fabric in each part. None-structural components like body panels and covers will typically require 3-6 layers of a carbon fiber cloth of this weight, although more commonly a lightweight 3k fabric like this will be used as a surface ply, with heavier (and more cost effective) 6k or 12k plies used to make up the total thickness.

How to Buy

Our 285g (10oz) carbon fiber cloth is available to buy in 1.25m (49") width. The fabric is sold by the linear metre (1 meter = 1.09 yards). The unit price shown is for 1 linear metre but volume discounts automatically apply for larger quantities of fabric.

Please select your chosen fabric width and then purchase the number of linear metres you require. When purchasing multiple metres the fabric will be supplied in one continuous length on a roll.
